Terminal is an accessory product used to realize electrical connection, which is divided into connectors in industry. With the increasing degree of industrial automation and the stricter and more precise requirements of industrial control, the use of terminals is gradually increasing. With the development of the electronic industry, the use of terminal is becoming more and more extensive. And there are more and more kinds.

Copper Lug

Copper terminal is a piece of metal enclosed in insulating plastic. Holes at one or both ends can be inserted into wires. Some are fastened or loosened by screws, such as two wires. Sometimes you need to connect, sometimes you need to disconnect. They can be connected by terminals and disconnected at any time without having to be welded or entangled. It's very convenient and fast.

Copper terminals are generally made of copper, brass or phosphorus bronze. The appearance of the product is the round head of the pot shovel. The top side is fixed screw side, and the end is copper core of wire and cable after peeling. Varieties are divided into plugging type and pipe pressure type. Oil plugging is better to resist air oxidation. Generally, the copper terminal is coated with aluminium, nickel, copper and nickel-copper alloy to prevent oxidation and blackening.

Aluminum Lug

A look around the electrical industry within the United States paints a different picture. The majority of the lugs we use have aluminum bodies, yet today's electrical systems continue to improve in reliability.

What has changed? Is an all-copper system still the most reliable way to go? Aluminum-bodied lugs still have some failures. The thermal expansion properties of copper and aluminum dictate that installers use only aluminum-bodied lugs to terminate aluminum conductors. Likewise, installers can use copper- or aluminum-bodied lugs to terminate copper conductors. This research turns up some other surprising findings, too. Manufacturers today do not make aluminum-bodied lugs of pure aluminum. Instead, they produce them with a continuous copper or nickel flashing or coating, that they cover with tin or silver.

Deciding between Copper or Aluminum Lugs

Copper terminals are suitable for interconnection of a large number of wires. In the power industry, there are special terminal row and terminal box. The top is all wire crimp terminals, single-layer, double-layer, current, voltage, ordinary, breakable and so on. A certain area of crimping is used to ensure reliable contact and sufficient current.

The rapid growth of the domestic copper wire end terminals market is mainly due to the rapid development of the domestic network communication industry. At present, the domestic demand for copper terminal products is mostly concentrated in the network communication industry. In recent years, some copper terminal manufacturers have gradually turned their products into new consumer electronic devices. However, as far as the overall application of copper terminal products is concerned, the domestic emphasis is still on the field of network communication. In addition, according to the characteristics of copper and aluminum, copper is a safer choice as mechanical lugs.
